Evie Dennis Campus

A 2008 Denver Public Schools Bond program provided $48 million for the construction of an ECE – 12th grade shared campus in Green Valley Ranch. Now called the Evie Garrett Dennis Campus, the school opened at the beginning of the 2010-11 school year and is home to Vista Academy, SOAR@GVR, Denver School of Science and Technology, STRIVE GVR Middle School, Clayton Early Learning and Z Place.

The campus has become a national model for 21st Century school design. The campus also exemplifies Denver’s innovative policies which support charter schools, as the district-funded facility is home to four charter schools and one district-run school. In addition, it is the most energy efficient set of school buildings in Denver.

A 2012 Denver Public Schools Bond program allowed the campus to expand with two new additional secondary schools located just northeast of the main campus in a new area named the Regis Groff Campus. Finally, a 2016 Denver Public Schools Bond program is completing the Groff Campus with two additional secondary buildings which include KIPP Collegiate Academy and STRIVE RISE High School. At full buildout, the Regis Groff Campus and Evie Dennis campuses will serve over 3,500 students with a leading-edge learning environment, innovative educators and an engaged and enthusiastic community and student body.

Oakwood Homes and BuildStrong Education are proud to have played a role in these campuses from the onset. Oakwood Homes won the competitive contract to be the Turnkey Developer of Phase 1 of Evie Dennis. BuildStrong Education has continually advocated for high-quality schools to be placed and helped to bring Z Place here.
